Focused on the construction of Mount Saint Joseph High School to expand educational capacity in Manchester. Works include classrooms, laboratories, administrative facilities, an auditorium, and kitchen facilities, with provisions for accessibility, sanitation, and security. Funded by the Government of Jamaica and implemented through the Ministry of Education, Skills, Youth and Information's National Education Trust (NET).
A comprehensive, islandwide school infrastructure programme aimed at improving safety, accessibility, and learning conditions. Works include construction of additional classrooms and laboratories, retrofitting of sanitary facilities, installation of security fencing, and modernisation of electrical systems across 17 high schools and 2 primary schools, with the construction of a new infant school. Funded by the Government of Jamaica and implemented through the Ministry of Education, Skills, Youth and Information's National Education Trust (NET).
A multi-year government-led initiative modernising Jamaica's education sector, with previous phases supported by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). Key focus areas include:
Construction of six STEAM institutions and one Visual and Performing Arts secondary school by 2028/29
Strengthening school management, governance, and administrative frameworks
Integration of ICT and installation of security systems (e.g. CCTV) to enhance learning environments and access
Ongoing teacher training, implementation of new curricula, and emphasis on professional competence
